On the Highways of Life at Covenant University

My name is Oluwatobi Omotoso, and this is my report of the past week at Covenant

University.

For a long time, I had always longed to school at this great citadel of knowledge upon the numerous remarks made by family members and close friends who had the rare opportunity of schooling here. With my experience so far, this past week, I know I made the right decision.

Marking Monday, I had my first Covenant Hour of Prayer session, and I truly enjoyed the service. From the choir ministration to the teaching of the Word, it is made evident that Covenant University cares so much about my Spiritual Development. Afterwards, I ventured to Cafeteria 1, where I almost got lost by the host of choices, from pocket snacks and pastries to full on African delicacies. I am sure to never lose my appetite all through this semester.

Turning to Tuesday, Orientation began and lasted through the working week. I was taught the culture of Kings and Queens at Covenant University and introduced to the Core values of the school; spirituality being the arrowhead. There were seminars with diverse faculty members, each with reputable qualifications and a deep desire for my success. Also, we were given our internet login details, and an internet bundle of almost 50 Gigabytes, providing more room for research and study.

Waking on Wednesday, I ventured to the Learning resource center opposite the Chapel building and was immersed by so much literature, I talked with the librarians, who were very helpful and welcoming and have been going to the library ever since very religiously. The library has become my favourite place to visit in the University, after the Chapel of course. I headed out by 5:00 PM  to chapel for the communion service and was once more engaged in the presence of God.

Thrusting into Thursday, I amongst other students were taken to the department building for the Mechanical Engineering Department. Here, we met the faculty members including the Head of Department, and the level advisors. They gave us a warm welcome and assured us they were always ready to help if the need arises.

Flowing into Friday, orientation ended today, and now I am equipped for a successful stay at the university. I met with some new friends and spent my time at the library for the afternoon. Later in the day, I went around the campus and soaked in the greenery and all the sights around, which is much abundant on campus here.

Soon its Saturday, I joined the Badminton and Volleyball team and got off to training. It has been a very eventful week and I can't wait for what week 2 entails. Now I can say, I'm finally on the Highways of Life at Covenant University.
